At Faith Church, we believe corporate worship is a very special time for both parents and children to worship together with the entire congregation as much as possible. When we allow children to worship, read scripture, and pray with us, it communicates to them that this time of worship is important and that we are inviting them to take part in this act of enjoying and praising God together. This brings God glory and it allows children to see and experience what true worship looks like when God’s people come together to extol our LORD and King.

At the same time, we understand it can be a difficult transition period for parents with young children to be able to attend service without being distracted by their little ones the entire time and we want everyone to be able to worship comfortably with inclined ears and ready hearts to receive His Word.

To accommodate our Faith Families, we have designed a separate FaithKids program where children will have the opportunity to join their parents’ worship service in the main sanctuary at 1pm and then move into their respective small groups right before the sermon starts.

Currently, our FaithKids program is broken up into four age groups:

*Families with children younger than 18 months are encouraged to remain in the sanctuary and join the rest of the congregation for corporate worship. Our church is made up of a large number of growing families and we are not bothered at all by crying babies 🙂 Families are more than welcome, however, to step out and visit the nursery room if they need to make a diaper change or if they need a breather to calm their child when necessary.

FaithKids Mini and Junior Schedule Breakdown

12:45pm – Arrival. Although our service officially starts at 1pm, we encourage all attendees to arrive a little bit earlier so they have time to settle down and prepare their hearts for worship. For new visitors, this is also a good time to introduce your family to one of the members on our welcoming team and ask what group your child(ren) will be placed in for FaithKids time so you know when and where to pick them up.

1:00pm – Corporate Worship Starts. Children join the rest of the congregation in opening prayer, praise, scripture reading, time of offering, and announcements.

1:20pm – FaithKids Program Starts. The children are called up to the front of the sanctuary to line up in their groups with their teachers, Pastor Sean prays over them, and they are escorted to their classes.

ORDER OF FAITHKIDS MINI AND JUNIOR WORSHIP:

1. 1. 1. Welcoming and Praise
         • Both FaithKids Mini and Junior classes will come together to have a time of praise together.
      2. Key Passage
         • Each month, we focus on reading a specific passage in scripture followed by a song to help the children memorize the key passage.
      3. Attendance
         • At this time, FaithKids Mini and Junior groups will take attendance and split into their own classes.
      4. Time of Offering and Offertory Prayer
         • Juniors will have a time of offering and offertory prayer.
         • Mini group will not have a time of offering, but will open up with a word of prayer to begin their lesson.
      5. Bible Story
         • Junior group will be watching the Bible story video from The Gospel Project and review the main story point together.
         • Mini group will be reading a Bible story together.
      6. Closing Prayer
      7. Activity
         • The Junior teacher will lead the children in some sort of a craft, game, or group activity that will help them apply the lesson they learned from the Bible story.
         • FaithKids Mini will engage in free play during this time.

~2:15pm – Pickup. Depending on what time the sermon has concluded for the adult service, parents will quietly exit the sanctuary after taking communion to pick up their children at each of their respective classrooms. Parents of the FaithKids Mini and Junior group will be asked to sign out their children upon exiting the nursery.

~2:15pm – Dismissal. Parents of the FaithKids Senior group will not need to be picked up from their classes. The Senior group teacher will be escorting the children back to the main sanctuary to join the remainder of the worship service during communion. Please note that while children are encouraged to observe communion with their parents, they are not to take part in it at this time.

FaithKids Junior High

Children who are in grades 6 to 8 will have their own separate FaithKids program prior to the start of service starting at 12:00pm in the church office. By 12:55pm, they will be escorted back to the main sanctuary by their teacher to join our entire corporate worship service with their parents from 1:00pm to 2:30pm.
